WiFi Auto Authenticator: Simplify and automate the login process

WiFi Auto Authenticator is a free Android app developed by Ondřej Morávek that simplifies and automates the login process on the Cisco Web Auth captive portal used on some WiFi networks. This app detects changes in network connectivity and resolves the captive portal redirection on a selected WiFi network using an automatic login function.

For rooted phones, the app can automatically switch mobile data on and off during automatic login to bypass the built-in captive portal detection inside some versions of the Android OS. There is also a manual toggle to turn mobile data on and off.

The app requires permissions to perform WiFi scanning, including coarse location, to access and change wireless state. However, users should be aware that the Web Auth portal password is stored in plain text and sent in the HTTP request during automatic login, which may not be secure if the Web Auth is running on an unencrypted HTTP. Additionally, this app does not validate the server SSL certificates.

Overall, WiFi Auto Authenticator is a useful tool for simplifying and automating the login process on Cisco Web Auth captive portals. However, users should exercise caution when using the app to ensure the security of their login information.
